Routers

Cisco 1600-R series routers

The Cisco 1600 series routers has many options that make it a great offering for small offices or elementary schools. Our favorite in this category is the 1605-R, which has two Ethernet ports and one WIC slot. The Ethernet ports are terrific for supporting two networks at the site and through the use of Cisco's advanced IOS features allows us to configure it to secure each network from the other. This is a great option for schools that house an administrative network and instructional network.

The Cisco 1700 series routers has many options that make it a terrific product for small offices or elementary schools. It comes with one autosensing Fast-Ethernet port and two WIC slots. It also supports a wider range of WIC modules than its 1600 series cousins.

Cisco 2500 series routers

The 2500 series are still in wide-scale deployment. This was one of Cisco's most reliable pieces of equipment. We still support a large number of these routers. We usually recommend either the 1600 or 2600 series routers in places where these are being phased out.

Cisco 2600 series routers

The Cisco 2600 series routers has many options that make it the best offering for mid-size offices or schools. This line supports a mix of WIC cards and NM modules. It is extremely flexible and is one of our top sellers due to some of its models supporting 100Mb Ethernet ports. This device can outperform the 1600 in both functionality and flexibility.

Cisco 3600 series routers

The Cisco 3600 series routers has many options that make it the best offering for mid-size offices or schools. This line also supports a mix of WIC cards and NM modules. These are primarily focused for mid size facilities or the core of smaller scale WANs.

Cisco 7200 series routers

The Cisco 7200 series routers come in wide use at the core of the network. This line offers innumerable features.

Cisco 7500 series routers

The Cisco 7500 series routers fit in as true core routers. They work out as terrific aggregation routers for ISPs or Larger corporate headquarters.

Cisco Aironet Series client adapters and access points are IEEE 802.11b compliant and are excellent complements or alternatives to the reliable, best-of-class wired LAN products from Cisco.

Cisco 2900 series switches

The 2900 switches are primarily 10/100 speeds. They are still in wide deployment. Primarily, we have opted to push the 3500 series due to their advanced features and flexibility. The 2900-m-xl models does support Gigabit expansion cards.

Cisco 3500 series switches

The 3500 switches are our best stackable switch offering. The 3500 series supports 10/100/1000 speeds, switch clustering, GBIC modules and many other advanced features.

Cisco 4000 series switches

The 4000 switch is an affordable chassis based switch offering. The 4000 series supports 10/100/1000 speeds, GBIC modules and many other advanced features. Perfect option for a low/mid density port capacity.

Cisco 6000/6500 series switches

The 6500 switch is a high end chassis based switch offering. The 6500 series supports 10/100/1000 speeds, GBIC modules, MSM (layer 3) functionality optional and many other advanced features. Perfect option for a mid-high density port capacity or core network switch.

Cisco GBIC Modules

Cisco's introduction of the GBIC modules into their product lines is a network managers dream-come-true. They offer a great deal of flexibility with their newest switches. GBIC modules come in various flavors, such as, Gigastack (Gigabit over proprietary fire-wire type cable), Multimode only, Multimode/Singlemode, Longwave Singlemode and Gigabit over copper modules.
